This is the start of a bizarre and probably unachievable exercise. The logging of the family Gedrych as it exists at the start of the third millenium of the Christian era and its history over the last eight hundred years

I'm attempting to bring together all the strands of the family as far as it is possible so that the family records are available to all the family and that we have as comprehensive a list as possible of the details of the family for as far back as it is possible to go.

At the best guess there are less than fifty individuals with the surname Gedrych, alive today in the entire world, and if that doesn't make you feel special then nothing will.

This site is still being constructed but the family tree, such as it is, is available on line via www.mytrees.com
Scroll down the side bar to short cuts and click on family access, then use the account number 61773, and password gedrych. This will allow you to view the biographical data as it exists now.

The site includes the fullest possible family tree, but it is hardly exhaustive or exclusive. It is also far from complete. If you can amend any gaps please do. You can save a graphic chart of the main family as a pdf file or as a JPEG file.

The family has had a chequered career, from farming to publican, to railways and docks, to insurance and government, to computers, advertising and music. There are some interesting common strands, and some amazing coincidences. I am indebted to Mark Gedrych and Elwyn Gedrych both of whom have done stalwart service in sorting out the tangles of the family tree.

If you can and want to contribute please do. I'm open to anything, family feuds, family pleasures, recollections of the elderly, achievements, press cuttings - anything which relates to the activities of this unique bunch of people - the clan Gedrych.

I am willing to accept physical documents and scan them for inclusion and return them. It can be anything family related as long as you identify what it is and why it's relevant.
